Five Steps to Activate
Understand Joule’s Capabilities and Value
Before enabling Joule, it’s important to get familiar with what it offers. Joule helps users across SAP applications by generating content, answering queries, and improving task execution — all while saving time and enhancing accuracy.
Validate SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS) Activation
Joule uses SAP Cloud Identity Services to manage user authentication and control access securely. Ensure that Identity Authentication Service (IAS) and Identity Provisioning Service (IPS) are activated and correctly configured in your environment.
Check Data Center Compatibility
Joule is currently available in select SAP data centers globally, with planned expansion over time. Confirm with your SAP team that your system is hosted in a compatible data center to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted experience.
Contact Your SAP Representative and Sign Terms & Conditions
Your allocation depends on your number of licensed, active users. Once this is complete, your SAP representative will help you finalize the required agreements.
Complete Post-Provisioning Configuration
After activation, perform any necessary post-provisioning steps. These may include fine-tuning settings, defining user roles, or enabling specific capabilities — often done in collaboration with SAP or your trusted SAP partner.
